Hammerlock cotter pins are a highly versatile fastener used in external applications such as locking clevis pins in place. The unique hook design on the end of pin forces the lower prong forward when the top of the pin is hammered, spreading the pin apart and locking it in place, hence the name "hammerlock". They are made from low carbon zinc plated steel for mild corrosion resistance.
